Besides forecasting, Harry Coumnas studies the impact of weather conditions on the environment & performs research on climate change & weather prediction models. His research interests span across a variety of subjects, including – seasonal forecasting, climate prediction, ocean forecasting, and many more. So far, he has investigated subjects like – the physics of clouds & precipitation, global climatic change, and many more. He has also developed many numerical & computer models for predicting atmospheric processes & improving the preciseness of forecasts.
Before landing a job as a meteorologist in a leading research institute of Ireland, Harry Coumnas completed his studies from some of the most prestigious science schools in the country. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in meteorology. During his graduation and post graduation programs, he learnt in detail about forecasting, weather analysis, & dynamic meteorology. While pursuing his post graduation, he, along with his two class-mates, Jim Watson and Peter Gauthier, created a climate model showing mathematical representation of the climate system on biological, physical, & chemical principles. The model not only got Harry and his friends appreciation from the Professors, but also got them placed as trainees in the country's well-known research institute.
